Climate Action
Better We CIC has championed climate sustainability since 2022, delivering creative, practical, and community-led climate action. We work with residents, women, and young people to take meaningful action through litter-picking campaigns, alleyway and green-space improvements, recycling and upcycling workshops, sustainable growing activities, and climate awareness sessions that link environmental responsibility with wellbeing and community pride.
Our climate work also includes arts-led and educational programmes, such as youth climate projects ending in climate-themed drama performances, community climate marches, and collaborations on climate storytelling and performance. We have delivered home-energy and cost-of-living workshops, energy cafés, and projects focused on empowering ethnic minority women to engage with the journey to net zero. Initiatives like our Saree Library and regular clothing-swap events promote reuse, reduce textile waste, and encourage sustainable fashion choices.
We are currently working towards becoming a Carbon Literate Organisation, embedding climate knowledge, responsibility, and sustainable practices across our staff, volunteers, and programmes—proving that small, community-led actions can create lasting environmental change.
