Our Saree Library event on 14th April at Better We CIC was more than just a beautiful gathering—it marked the beginning of something meaningful.
We are proud to share that this is the first Saree Library in the UK.
Sarees are not just garments. They carry memories, culture, identity and stories of celebration. But behind their beauty, there is also a hidden impact — from water-intensive cotton farming to the environmental cost of large-scale textile production.
Through our Saree Library, we are encouraging reuse, sharing, and mindful choices. This is about making culture accessible, supporting our community during the cost of living crisis, and taking small but powerful steps towards climate action.
Together, we can celebrate tradition while caring for our planet.
